Despite the misinformation that Biden shut it down, the keystone pipeline is still operational. What he did was cancel the XL pipeline extension. I have read that all of Keystone's oil is refined and then exported. So, it doesn't do much for our energy independence. The XL pipeline would not have made the situation any better and had the potential for causing environmental problems. Besides, once its construction was complete, then what? All those jobs are gone. Why not focus more on the clean energy industry? I have read that the clean energy industry already employs more workers than the fossil fuel industry. Those jobs are long-lasting and available in every state regardless of geology or geography. It seems a bit short-sighted to me to keep putting all our eggs in the fossil-fuel basket.
"We did not make Russia rich with oil money."
If we produced enough energy Russia would make less money.
Right now Biden is announcing we will release from the Strategic Reserve.
Would have been better to just turn up the tap a little.
Gawd, now he is back to trickle down and high speed internet. And he still wants to fix some bridges!
