MSNBC: A legitimate news organization...

Posted By Mike Strieber

The network that daily claims FOX News is not a legitimate news organization while citing their own journalistic integrity shows just how much credibility that claim warrants.

"MSNBC Crops President Bush Out of Newsweek Cover"

Oh, this the day after Dylan Ratigan (MSNBC "news" anchor) said the Tea Party is full of people "who are into killing blacks and Jews and women or whatever it may be" during an "interview" with conservative talk radio host Mark Williams. Ratigan in essence insisted Williams agree with his contention and demanded Williams denounce them. After some back and forth on it, Williams walked off the set and Ratigan closed the interview with this:

"Do you have any intention of answering any of my questions," Ratigan said. "Let me ask you a question, Mark because I don't want to continue with this. You're wasting valuable oxygen. Can we please cut off this man's microphone? He has no interest in answering any of my questions. Mark, a pleasure - actually not really a pleasure. It was offensive. You're offensive. Your treatment of my show as a vehicle to spread your propaganda, ignore my questions, offensive. And an indication of what is wrong with the dialogue in this country, period. Not to mention a group that would accept Nazis and racists."

I really like this part: "And an indication of what is wrong with the dialogue in this country, period." Of course there's nothing wrong with his "dialogue" is there? Talk about "spreading propaganda".
Journalistic integrity at its finest.

Obama's foreign policy...

Posted By Mike Strieber

You've got to admit, Obama's foreign policy "reset button" is working quite well. Now that he's "reset" US-Israeli relations to something on par with US-Japanese relations of December, 1941 you have to agree he's a master of multi-tasking. He has totally ignored foreign policy to concentrate on the economy, cap and trade, eh, jobs, no I meant stimulus, no I'm sorry it's Gitmo, no that's not it...it's healthcare…well, actually I’m not sure. After all, they've all worked out so well it's hard to tell.

Now we've got Iran laughing all the way to the nuke plant watching Biden in Israel. Israel has in essence thrown a shoe at Biden and he retaliates by showing up late for dinner. Wow, this is an administration way out of their league. I'm surprised Biden didn't show up to dinner with Netanyahu with a bunch of guys in white lab coats behind him...or believable with this administration....an entourage of Palestinians. I understand Ahmadinejad has offered to pay for all of Biden’s future trips to Israel.

Cartoon Network beats out MSNBC...

Posted By Mike Strieber

...in the prime time ratings.

I wonder if it has anything to do with how they conduct interviews at MSNBC?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8R8baHPr2E

What is amazing to me is how hypocritical they are. Every half-hour today they are running a highly edited version of the Fox News-Obama interview yesterday showing only the places where Brett Bair interrupted the president. I haven't seen them once talk about the substance of the interview, just the process. Yet in every case they follow it with a segment imploring people to quit talking about the "process" of the healthcare legislation and concentrate on the substance. It is truly amazing to watch. If you watch the You Tube link I posted you will see a very typical interview on MSNBC. It is almost weekly now you will see an apology from an MSNBC anchor on how they conducted an interview and got hammered for it....and their general viewing public is far left! Granted, most of their viewers applaud their approach to guests, but even the mouth-frothing liberals have some sense of decency on ocassion (well, maybe not). I've said it many times, Fox is very bias, but MSNBC is bias and trash. It boggles my mind when I see all the claims of "lies", "misinformation", etc. on Fox News, and it's obvious it is usually coming from people soaking up the propaganda coming from MSNBC. You see attacks on Fox in this forum almost daily. If you don't watch them, check out the full interviewed linked, it's about 3 minutes long. For those of you who only hear about how Fox is bias, perhaps it will open your eyes. Trust me; this isn't a cherry-picked interview. This is the real stuff, and very common, coming from a news organization that daily claims they are legitimate and not opinionated. Ratigan is their prime daytime "news" anchor. Gee, I wonder why the Obama administration hasn’t attacked MSNBC for being bias as they did Fox.

And rest assured those here and other places that claim that Fox viewers are ignorant and racist are getting their news from outlets such as MSNBC. The talking points here often match up perfectly with what MSNBC is saying that very day. That is, when they break away from the Cartoon Network to get a drink of kool-aid.

Enough about Fox, we get it.

There goes Obama's chances for reelection...

"ACORN disbanding because of money woes, scandal."

It's just hard to imagine why such a fine upstanding organization like ACORN might be shutting their doors. Who will organize communities and facilitate voter fraud now on behalf of Democrats? wink

Time to move on Republicans...

Posted By Mike Strieber

You shot your wad and you lost. This bill will never be repealed. These proposed law suits will go nowhere. The healthcare bill will become old news in a month and Republicans will still be making headlines of it right into November, loading the bases for a homerun by Democrats. By November most people will have only experienced the positive from this bill, and not the negative yet. Clearly, most people don't like the bill and certainly a majority of people didn't like the process. Most people don't like the war in Iraq either and clearly that process was flawed but even that wasn't "repealed". Move on Republicans; put this to bed before you run it into the ground in the form of a defeat in November. If all we hear from Republicans between now and November is how they need to repeal this bill they will certainly be branded the party of no, the party of nothing to offer, and the party of whiners. Hell, I'm on their side and I'm sick of the whining. The bill is flawed, no doubt. But it's not unconstitutional, it's not communism, and I didn't wake up Monday morning and put my French beret on. The bill will be signed today and I still don't feel like I live in North Korea. I opposed the bill, but it’s here so I will take advantage of it where I can. It appears I can put my daughter back on my insurance so I will. Well ok, call me a communist, but call my daughter insured.

Move on Republicans, move on before you snatch defeat from the jaws of a November victory. Move on to immigration; let's see how bad we can screw that up.

Newton's Laws

Posted By Mike Strieber

I have no doubt if the "internets" was around in Newton's days he would have recognized an additional law we are all now familiar with. "The longer a thread gets the more irrelevant the discussion becomes." grin

Enough with the "nail in the coffin" thread fellas, start a new thread. Going through 10 pages of that thread to get to current affairs is enough. Many folks are going to miss the story about the "tan tax". wink

Guess what may be next...

MSNBC commentator Ed Shultz on his radio show today:

“It is a cultural war that's taking place in America, you're exactly right. And it's being played out over the airwaves of America. And I hope the Democrats now turn to the Fairness Doctrine.”

“…we have reached the point where the Congress needs to equal it out. Equal out the audience.”

“And so, I think that, you know, hell, if we're going to be socialist, let's be socialist all across the board.”

Even if he was mocking the use of the term “socialist”, it was an unfortunate choice of words. If nothing else he recognizes, while still supporting it, the Fairness Doctrine would not be consistent with our form of democracy. When Pelosi was asked if she would support a revival of the “Fairness Doctrine” she responded with:

‘Yes, without hesitation.”

Perhaps it’s time for the left to finally realize their dream to control the airwaves as well? Hopefully these discussions don't gain traction.

November elections...

Posted By Mike Strieber

Interesting article on the potential outcome of the midterm elections. A few snips that I find most interesting:

“Millions of white men who voted for Barack Obama are walking away from the Democratic Party, and it appears increasingly likely that they'll take the midterms elections in November with them. Their departure could well lead to a GOP landslide on a scale not seen since 1994.”

"By February, support for Democrats among white people (male and female) was three percentage points lower than in February 1994, the year of the last Republican landslide."

"It's no accident that the flight of white males from the Democratic Party has come as the government has assumed a bigger role, including in banking and health care. Among whites, 71 percent of men and 56 percent of women favor a smaller government with fewer services over a larger government with more services, according to ABC/Washington Post polling.
Obama's brand of liberalism is exactly the sort likely to drive such voters away. More like LBJ's than FDR's, Obama-style liberalism favors benefits over relief, a safety net over direct job programs, health care and environmental reform over financial reform…"

"…and a stimulus package that has focused more on social service jobs -- health care work, teaching and the like -- than on the areas where a majority of job losses occurred: construction, manufacturing and related sectors."

"In 1994, liberals tried to explain their thinning ranks by casting aspersions on the white men who were fleeing, and the media took up the cry. The term "angry white male" or "angry white men" was mentioned 37 times in English-language news media contained in the Nexis database between 1980 and the 1994 election. In the following year, the phrases appear 2,306 times."
Sound familiar?

"Tarnishing their opponents as merely "angry" was poor politics for the Democrats."

Senate majority leader at his best...

Posted By Mike Strieber

"In one of the stranger moments on the campaign trail today, an audience member at Comma Coffee in Carson City asked U.S. Sen. Harry Reid what he is doing to encourage immigrant women of child-bearing age to come to the United States."

"Let me answer it this way: I'm not opposed to sex," he said to a few moments of silence before the crowd began laughing."

"Reid then gave a shout out to Tiger Woods, who is attempting a come back after being caught philandering."

Just another example of why Harry Reid needs to go. The personality of a sea urchin combined with the faculties of vegetable. Any wonder why he's behind in the polls to everyone from five republican candidates to Charles Manson?
