Seeing wasn't that great this evening so I tried an interesting method for processing. I'm sure a lot of you are using the R(G)B method by Antonio Cidadao. It helped made an soso image look good. More info at:

RRGB vs RR(G)B

Posted By Christopher Go

I really got confused on which of the two method is better. I have heard from experts that true RRGB is better. In fact, someone told me that Antonio Cidadao doesn't use this anymore. Yes there are still some very good imagers who use this. Anyway, attached is a comparison between true RRGB and RR(G)B. Opinions please!! The advantage of the Cidadao method is that you save time because you don't have to get the green..

Mars 12/19

Posted By Christopher Go

After weeks of clouds, clear skies at last! Seeing was around 8/10 this evening. I was tweaking the collimation of the C11 and I was able to improve the collimation.

Mars is getting smaller and smaller! Note the details on the Hellas Region including the round feature there. Note also the long cloud that cuts from Hellespontus to Hellas.

Note also the round features in Moab/Arabia region. There are also interesting "canals" cutting through the Moab.

The South Polar cap is still visible but very small now.

Chris

Seeing was around 8/10 this evening. Note the cloud at the south pole. Is this the south polar hood? The South Polar Cap is still visible. Note the long cloud at Hellas.

Syrtis Major is at the CM with Syrtis Minor on the left. The canal details at Moab/Arabia is still visible.

Chris

Mars Friday the 13th!!

Posted By Christopher Go

Hello,

Friday the 13th but what a lucky day for me. Seeing was 8/10 with 4/5 transparency! I was able to solve a major problem with my system! Anyway here's an image of Mars featuring the Mare Erythraeum/Chryse Region. There is no sign of the SPC or the SPH. But the NPH is very prominent.
