Millions of loyal Trumptoids, indeed the majority of the Republican party, believes and is led to believe by its sycophantic leadership, that the election was "stolen" and Joe Biden is not the legitimate president of America. That's not to mention the planning and preparation behind Trump's plot to overthrow the legitimate election of Joe Biden.
Many of the Republican candidates running for election to certification boards believe in the big lie and openly support it. One whom was  on the Michigan election board and refused to certify the vote for Biden. That particular individual was also a rampant anti-vaxxer who died from covid recently but there are plenty of others like him running for election to certification boards.

So, downplay it, rewrite history, try to change the narrative, but the truth is slowly coming out, and Merrick Garland made it painfully clear that the DOJ will not simply look the other way. More people will be going to jail.

Other than the vaccines, Trump did little to help and a lot to make things worse. Early in the pandemic, he tried to turn it into a red-state versus blue-state issue for his political advantage. He downplayed it rather than addressing the difficulties and blamed the states any time the federal response fell short.
