Outstanding sketch Sol, nice to see your back in action, the neb rift looks really dark and the B.A. oval seems to be falling apart since its meeting with the grs last year, thanks for sharing.

Although I didn't participate in the lively debate over optics,I found it very enlighting,I never though your post or threads could possibly be thought of as anything but your honest ideas,not degrading or insulting at all,I'm not sad, I'm angry that such a knowlegeable and frequent poster as yourself would think of leaving because some people had taken things the wrong way,this kind of thing has happened on other astronomy forums and the forums suffered because of it.

Great boks Ron, you do feel like your exploring mars with your scope instead of just looking at it when you have some background,the book tries to explain the human fascination with Mars,I don't know even looking at Mars with your eyeballs is exciting for me.

I saw the slender crescent at 7:50 C.D.T. it was obvious in the twilight just north of west,glimming in the skies of Chicagoland.Here is a photo I took,the moon is barely visiable just above and to the left of the telephone pole on the right.
