Hi all,

Once again, thanks for all your input. I decided to buy the scope, I'm picking it up tomorrow. I have a few adaptors to buy (ie. optec TCF - AP 2.7"), will have to check out my dovetail situation, but I'm hoping to get a visual first light this week-end. Getting it set up for photography will take a couple more weeks.

Picked it up on Wednesday, absolutely mint condition other than some felt coming loose in the dewcap (fixed - thanks Roland for the advice). Set it up in my dome last night during the rain (holy crap the thing barely fits!!). It's clear right now and I'm impatiently waiting for darkness - I feel like a kid on Christmas eve....

Hi Lawrence,

Several possibilities, improper collimation is certainly one. Non-thermally equilibrated optics and generally poor seeing are others. Start by making sure that your scope is properly collimated. Take the scope outside at least an hour before you intend to use it and start with low/medium power oculars.

And, here's the full frame. I'll try to get the color data for this. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the tracking of my G11 at this focal length, although I am rejecting significantly more subs than I did before.
