I thought I would share some of my images of southern objects, starting with globular clusters.

This one is my favourite globular; NGC 104, AKA 47 tucanae.

NGC 2808 is a bright globular cluster in Carina. Although visible to the naked eye and showing good resolution in an 8" telescope, it seems poorly known. Possibly because of its southern location.

Actually richie, it is so-called "christians" that give religion a bad name, with their constant attempts to impose their religious beliefs on the rest of society. Consider the early days of your country when missing church more than 3 times meant banishment or death.  Or the repeated attempts for national Sunday laws. As it is, many states have religious laws on their books, the so called "blue laws". And they are still enforced to varying degrees. For example, in Indiana you cannot purchase alcohol before noon on Sunday. Why? Only because some "christian" sects believe Sunday is a sacred day, contrary to what the Bible teaches.

And with regard to the 10 commandments, which version is to be accepted? The Roman Catholic version is different to the protestant version. In the catholic version, the second commandment is dropped and the 10th split into 2.

Finally "voluntary" state-sanctioned prayer is most definitely not voluntary.  Just look at the way Jehovah's Witnesses children have been treated because they would not take part.

As a way of educating yourself you should read "Liberty magazine". Then you might be able to make a worthwhile contribution to the discussion.

I don't know where you get the idea that the UK inflation rate is only 2.5%. It is actually 9.1%.
