Democratic civility running rampant…

Posted By Mike Strieber

Aren't all these guys members of the same party that vilified Joe Wilson for yelling out “you lied”?

“…a "senior White House official" sent an email calling Joe Scarborough an "a-----e" for mocking Pres. Obama's Nobel Pease Prize”.

"The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists - the Taliban and Hamas this morning - in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace prize," DNC communications director Brad Woodhouse…”

Ammiano to Schwarzenegger: "Kiss my gay ass"…
…State Assemblyman Tom Ammiano [D] of San Francisco, who shouted "You lie!" to Schwarzenneger during the event at the Fairmont Hotel -- and didn't deny reports he walked out with a quip of "kiss my gay ass"…

I have to assume all those here that expressed outrage at Wilson would be equally offended by remarks such as these coming from Democrats? On the other hand...let me guess.

Petty politics...

Posted By Mike Strieber

Why does the White House continue to pick these petty fights with the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Michael Steele, Fox News, etc.? And they do so with their facts wrong. This latest one with Fox News will do nothing but embolden Fox (with a far superior number in viewership than the other networks) and one the White House is certain to lose in the long run. BTW, why aren't they complaining about MSNBC? Oh, never mind...

Afghanistan

Posted By Mike Strieber

Not sure if anyone had a chance to see Frontline on PBS the other night. The episode was titled "Obama's War". Before anyone blows a gasket they did one a few years ago titled "Bush's War". If you didn't see Obama’s War, I highly encourage you to if they repeat it. Certainly casts doubt as to what we're doing there. On the other hand it also shows just how good our military is. These young men displayed extreme courage and intelligence, and clearly showed signs of being combat-experienced professionals. Unfortunately it also showed young Americans being killed, incidents you rarely see in the news. One senior official there said "we could do everything right in Afghanistan and still lose". To be frank, I strongly supported our efforts in Afghanistan. I have of late (last couple years) begun to doubt our continued presence there. What we did in November of 2001 was right and done well. We took our eye off the ball and are now paying the price. I know there are inherent risks with just leaving but do those risks outweigh the risks associated with staying? I guess everyone will have their own opinion. I personally would hate to see us fighting in Afghanistan another 8 years, who knows how many Americans dead, and not being any closer to resolving anything there. While initially skeptical about Obama taking so much time to decide our path forward I now applaud his diligence. This is not an easy decision to make.

Just some commentary coming from a 27 year veteran, who has been accused of being a warmonger here, one who typically does not support Obama's policies, and most importantly...works everyday with the men and women fighting in both Afghanistan and Iraq. It just might be time to bring them home….from the longest war in American history.

"Fla. Democrat calls Fed adviser "K Street whore"

If there is a Liberal/Democrat (or anyone for that matter) who participates in this forum that agrees with this Representative's approach to politics please speak up. I'd be interested to hear your rationale. It appears to me he has found a means to fulfill his quest for attention, and his thirst for recognition will be his downfall. Why is he in the news once a week now with some pathetic verbal garbage?

"The seven-line note in which the California Republican blasts the legislature for not advancing his administration's proposals on a host of issues appears innocuous enough at first glance. But upon closer examination, the first letter of every line collectively spells 'f**k you'."

Obama the runway model...

Posted By Mike Strieber

Looks like Obama better hurry up and get his healthcare bill passed before it's too late. Looks as though he's not covered, or at least made a poor choice for a physician…. although it might be too late already since his plan doesn't kick-in until 2012. I heard he's thinking about hiring Rush Limbaugh as his health and diet advisor.

"Is 'Barack n Bones' Obama thin as a rail because he's skipping too many meals to run the country?"

Looks to me like he's been skipping too many meals to run to fund raisers and the golf course, not the country.
