Shroud Material

Has anyone experimented with a shroud designed to block body heat? Maybe some thin foam. Might not make much difference in San Diego.

Zambuto uses Nova. The owner is an optician. I haven't seen any complaints about his service.

So-called founders and so-called economic freedom

BHO's Columbia thesis:

"... the Constitution allows for many things, but what it does not allow is the most revealing. The so-called Founders did not allow for economic freedom. While political freedom is supposedly a cornerstone of the document, the distribution of wealth is not even mentioned. While many believed that the new Constitution gave them liberty, it instead fitted them with the shackles of hypocrisy."

It is yet unknown if more of this thesis will be released. It was also noted that the President received an A- for the paper, which later led to his graduation.

I doubt this is legit. I have been missing some news lately, but I think I would have seen this.

Elephant In the Room

We need to build nuclear power plants, develope natural gas to run vehicles and power plants, and drill all the oil we can-including off the California coast. One crisis and it will cost one hundred dollars to fill our cars. How many dreamers think we won't have a crisis in the Middle East?

How to fight a war, the Obama way, Part 2

Posted By Mel Maki

Obama said he would close Gitmo. He has to put them somewhere. How about Yemen and the US?

david elosser said:

After learning that releasing Gitmo prisoners during the Bush administration was a deadly mistake, and while knowing all along that Yemen was a hotbed for Al Qaeda breeding, the Obama administration decided that one of the best ways to fight terrorism was to continue to release Gitmo prisoners back to Yemen. Obama released six prisoners to Yemen last month, December 2009. Recently, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said: “Obviously, we see global implications from the war in Yemen and the ongoing efforts by al-Qaeda in Yemen to use it as a base for terrorist attacks far beyond the region.” No kidding Mrs C! Did Elenor Roosevelt help you with that one?

How To Fight A War, the Saudi Way:
A number of prisoners released over the past few years have ended up in Saudi Arabia, where they where they went through the Saudi's extensive Rehabilitation Progam (aka the "Saudi High Intensity Training"). The Saudi's rehabilite their former Gitmo prisoners, in part, by giving them a car, a job, and a wife. I kid you not.

Health Care Bill Teeters

I will be more shocked if Coakley loses than I was when the Berlin Wall came down. You have to think the Dems can deliver the votes in that state.

Today's ARG poll of 600 likely voters-Brown +3!

Coakley dismissed Curt Schilling as a Yankee fan in a radio interview yesterday. The Red Sox are a religion to some. That cost her a couple of votes.

Amazing Hypocrisy

After five weeks of exercising his "right to remain silent." This was mishandled. Speed was of the essence. He was to be vaporized on Flight 253. When al-Qaida learned he was in custody they had time to cover tracks.

Here are two more reasons why I'm a proud Democrat.

Self-righteous Sarah Palin calls for Rahm Emanuel to resign after he used the word 'Retarded' in a closed-door meeting. He apologized(which he should have) yet you have the ever predictable Rush Limbaugh saying, on the radio, to the public, there's nothing wrong with calling "Retards, Retards." What does Saint Sarah say? "People shouldn't be disrespectful." Of course she can't criticize Limbaugh because she needs him too much. And now, e-mails are coming out detailing how small-government Sarah tried to cover up the $3,200 cost of putting in electicity for her tanning bed while she was Governor and getting pissed off because she couldn't get the state to pay for her daughter's air fare. Totally amazing.

Then you have the Republicans' leader in the Senate, Mitch McConnell, criticizing our intelligence agencies, after they're coming up with current, actionable intelligence from Umar Farouk Abdulmutallub, the underwear bomber, using smart and lawfull interrogation techniques. We Mirandize him, bring him members of his family to convince him to talk and he starts singing like a bird. And what's McConnell say? He says Holder shoulder be taking on the case and then says Larry King could have gotten more from him.

Ah geez, where do I start? Because it doesn't fit into their torture first, ask questions later view of the world, and because they are loathe to give any credit to the Obama aministration, these unpatriotic sleazebags put politics first and demean the brave men and women on the front lines on the war on terror who spend every waking moment worrying about threats and doing their best to combat it. Better to play politics than actually say the system worked. Mitch, remember Richard Reid, the shoe bomber? We Mirandized him after he was taken off the plane and tried him in a civilian court. Convicted him. System worked.

No wonder we're in such a fix. The Republicans are doing nothing but saying no to everything to get a political advantage in the midterms. Sad.

Where the Money Would Come From

Posted By Mel Maki

The link says the bill has a tax on insurers offering high-cost policies (typical of many unions). So then the workers and employers will choose lower-cost plans. The article says employers will spend less and be able to pay workers higher wages and workers will pay more taxes and provide more revenue for health care reform but this is delayed until 2018 because the unions complained!
