Hey Vincent....Where did you stay while in the Gila area? We have been planning to take a trip to the area at some point soon. I plan to retire somewhere in that area in a few years.

Okie-Tex Update-Wind damage

Someone there clocked the wind at 76 Mph. My shade canopy was destroyed, but fortunately it did not damage the scopes or the trucks and trailers.

We still had a great time even though the weather was weird. I think the same storm system caused Astrofest to be "clouded out"

We have suggested changing the name to the "Blowkie-Tex Star Party" grin I need a T shirt that says...." Okie-Tex 2006 Really Blew"

Even with this year's weird weather Okie-Tex is still my favorite star party.

Nice shot.

Here is my first attempt at LRGB on the Crab. The seeing was really bad so it was difficult to focus and the stars are pretty "fat".

L=60m RGB=20m (4m subs) combined in AA-2
HX-916 CCD 8" SCT @ f5 CI-700 mount

In desperate need of clear skies in Texas......

I guess my humble image is not too bad for a old SXL8p camera on a 8" f4 Schmidt Newt. The color is very similar to yours but the STL11000 wins out in resolution.
