Hey Tom, I hope the weather clears so you can review that mount soon. It looks like a great mount for a small refractor. I read a favorable review in the new S&T. Seems the biggest caveat is the database.

I am wondering if there is an AP Yahoo Group?

Greg.

Greg,

Go the the yahoo groups search page and type ap-ug. That'll get you there. There is also a group dedicated to A-P mounts. Type in ap-gto at the search page.

Accident Insurance for Scopes and astro equipment?

Posted By Rex Cox

Mine is covered by my homeowners insurance. Best to ask your agent if you're covered or what you need to do to be covered.

RUSH 30th anniversary DVD

Posted By Rex Cox

They are a great band Ivan. Have you heard the CD they did a few years back, titled 'Feedback'? They covered some tunes from the '60's like For What It's Worth, Mr. Soul, and Crossroads. I'm not big on "cover tunes", but Rush really did justice to these songs. Very psychedelic!

Who's refiguring your mirror?

Posted By Rex Cox

Hi Mark.

This is my own personal bias (you'll get others), but I like James Mulherin at OMI. One of his mirrors is in one of my Obsessions. The reason I went with him is because he is very accessible via e-mail and phone. I corresponded with him a lot before I purchased a mirror, and he was always happy to answer my questions. The guy knows a lot and is obsessive about getting things done right. I met him at Okie-Tex a few years ago, great guy.

As I recall, when James took over at OMI, there were some issues with mirrors that had been sold by the company before he came along. James refigured the mirrors at his cost. He uses scientifically verifyable methods for determining the figure of his mirrors, like laser interferometry.

Anyway, when it comes time to recoat or refigure any of my mirrors, he's my guy.

Can anybody tell me where I can find a U.S. company that sells these kinds of machines ?
I have looked threw several companies I googled, but all them sell large equipment. I might consider newly referbished equipment.
Thankyou,

Anecdotal Credit Crunch Signs

Is it just my imagination, or has anyone else noticed how credit-card solicitation junk mail has just suddenly STOPPED?

Shoot, I must be getting yours, because they just keep on coming, 2 or 3 a week. I still get one every two weeks from american express.

If you ask me, it just shows that creditors haven't learned a thing from the current credit situation.

As a matter of fact, I've found a great use for those fake credit cards they send with the soliciations. They make great spreaders for caulk and RTV.

2001: A Space Odyssey 2-disk set

Posted By Rex Cox

I have the single disk version. I wonder what extras are on the 2-disk set?

One of the best movies I've ever experienced. I saw it at the theater with my dad when it came out. I was completely immersed in it.

All Rush fans

We all agree that the Rush DVD set rocks!! But I gotta ask. What's your favorite Rush song? Mine? -- Tom Sawyer -- it really showcases Neal Peart's talent as a drummer.

Tough choice. Either 'Fly By Night' or 'Cygnus X-1'.
