Greg,

This is a real beauty. I can't believe how you are able to get away with so little total exposure time (yet again). 8O

CEDIC - Central European Deepsky Imaging Conferenc

Posted By Anthony Ayiomamitis

Dietmar,

This is both interesting and excellent!

Question: is there a major airport into the city or does one fly into a neighbouring city's airport and proceed from there?

The dates of the conference are good in relation to the phase of the moon and which means little to no lost imaging time (assuming clear skies). wink grin

It seems that a severe lack of Tak owner participation in this forum is a sure sign that Tak users are generally content with their equipment and busy whiling away the evening hours behind their instruments rather than posting.
Speaking for myself only, the weather has been a real bitch the past three months with DAILY clouds and often including rain. It has been so bad that I have yet to pursue Comet Lulin!

During the past three months I have not experienced more than 3-4 hours of clear skies in total!

A little more patience for March and, at the latest April, where I expect to be back in action with my Tak FSQ and Mewlon 210.

Luke,

This is a nice result ... M33 is a challenging target for various reasons.

You also did it with a DSLR ... nice!

March New Moon Spotting

Posted By Anthony Ayiomamitis

Kurt,

Thanks for the heads-up. Here is my result at 23h and 17m past new from last summer: http://www.perseus.gr/Astro-Lunar-Scenes-New-Moon-23hr.htm ...

I have a chance to do something with the new moon this time around when it will be approximately 16h 30m past new when it is rising and certainly this is worth a try!

Lunar Photometry

Posted By Anthony Ayiomamitis

Jim,

I have done a fair amount of work with exoplanets using differential photometry. As of Nov/2008, I had captured seventeen exoplanet results and which you can see here: http://www.perseus.gr/Astro-Photometry.htm .

I have been totally out of action due to the weather and now sand storms from the Sahara desert but I am certain I should be back in action during April.

Is there something I can help with?

Mewlon OTA Recommendations?

Posted By Anthony Ayiomamitis

Steve,

I have a Mewlon 210 which has yet to see first light due to the weather but two statements I can make with certainty are that (1) it is very portable with respect to its weight and (2) it is very portable (again) due to its volume.

With 8+ inches of aperture, I believe it is one alternative that one should seriously look into.

If you can wait slightly, please be patient and I hope to start posting lots of images (especially DSO's) taken through my Mewlon 210.

Resale value of APM Refractors.

Is it my imagination or is it generally true that APM refractors do not offer as good a resale value as say Takahashi or AP?
Anjal, you are five days late with your posting. wink
