US Intelligence and been used to further politicians agenda's since Nam and maybe even before. Its not that the intelligence is faulty its how the politicians decide what to interpret. I remember the body counts weekly on the NBC nightly news from 1968 and on. The numbers were purposely inflated to show the public that progress in Southeast Asia was being made. Same goes for the WMD's in Iraq. The CIA was told by the Bush Administration to basically give him all the excuses in other words find him all the links necessary to carry out the Bush agenda. Even when there were no links for WMD's the Bush Administration got what they wanted. Now they are doing it again with Iran. For the time being the US won't be doing much militarily we are too busy with Iraq which has turned into a disaster and the Taliban is regaining ground in Afghanistan. Just imagine what it will cost the US to invade Iran. Then there is Syria on top of all that. Seems like to me the Bush agenda is trying to force the middle east to be what ever Israel wants. All to make Israel safe. Well I'm sorry you can't force a people into liking you even if you murder them by the thousands. There will always to groups of people and countries that don't like Israel. This last little war in Lebanon appears to have backfired in both the faces of the Bush Administration and Israel. Seems like Hezzbola has scored points. After all its Hezzbola that is rebuilding Lebanon.

The sun is brighter than what 70% of the Stars in the Milky way. The vast majority of the Stars in the milky are Red Dwarfs. So the sun does do a pretty good job of proclaiming it self and it will be around for another 5 billion years or so. The really bright stars are here and gone in less than a million years. Who remembers the ones that formed the heavy elements making up our sun and system of planets. nopw those same lowly Red Dwarfs will still be here 100 billion years from now and will still be plugging away with there meager outputs with the occasional flare to remind everyone "Hey we are here too! :-)

Its pretty much True. The wait for the 1200 mount is almost nonexistant down to 6 months or less. The 900 list goes back to 2004 and from what I understand AP is planning a really big production run of the 900 goto starting delivery in 2007 probably clearing out that list of names as they did with the 1200 mount. I also hear that there is a huge production run of Mach 1's to start delivery in early 2007.

This is all due to the additional prod space AP did in 2004 completing that work of there factory in 2005 and now we are seeing the results of this expansion.

Telescopes are a different problem Roland is only one person and is the only person at AP making the optics. Its hard to predict what he is going to do next for a scope.

But then again you have scopes available from TEC TMB Stellarvue Takahashi and even Televue to mention So its not like a hish end scope is not available. The TEC 140 works great on a Mach 1 and a 900 goto. The TEC 10 or 12 inch Mak would look good on a 1200 mount. TEC even has a 7 inch F7 Apo while not cheap is available and would work out nicely with a 900 or 1200 mount.

Yep the Republicans win and gas soars to 5 bucks a gallon I have already heard this from a few wags. I figured it would take a lttle more than a year for it to get that high. But from what the runmour mill spews out we will see that price as early as January. In some areas of the country gas has already started its climb.

Oh from what I understand Roland had done a number of projects over the past 25 years or so. There are some 7 inch Mak Newts with some happy owners. An 8 inch houghten in a I think it was a C8 tube assembly that lives in California:-) A 10 inch F9 Mak Cass. There was a run of 140 mm tripletts in either the late 80's or early ninties. Forgot to mention a short run of five and six inch doublets. As people change interests and move on I'm sure they will end up on Astromart.

I paid around $11,000 for my 10 inch AP Mak Cass, that was from AP of course. 8)
