I know.  There is nothing ambiguous about this. Cell phones are not approved for classified communications (they aren't even allowed to be in the same room where classified discussions are taking place). Signal is not approved for classified communications (not even CUI info for that matter). Period.  They discussed war plans. War plans are classified. They put warfighters at risk doing this.

Every service member with a clearance knows they would be crucified for such an idiotic blunder.  I'm sure knowing that these dumbshits aren't going to suffer any repercussions is really great for morale.

That said, ever heard of google?
Hegseth announced on Signal the specific times the attacks would occur and the types of weapons systems that would be used.  Those are war plans (and they're all over the internet now; easy to find). What enemy would not find this information useful in targeting the attacking warplanes?

It almost seems like Hegseth and company got their national security training from a loudmouth know-nothing unemployed woodworker. Haha.

We need to resurrect your old nickname "Red". Red Herring.

Twisted, vile Leftist Democrat party Honors Murderering Assassin Luigi Mangione with Health Care Bill. Doesn't get any more sick and demented than that

The individual who filed this proposed initiative may indeed be sick and demented etc., but he is clearly not the Democratic Party.   Apparently anyone in CA can propose a ballot initiative and title it anything they like.   The initiative goes nowhere of course, unless over 500,000 signatures are collected to get the initiative on the ballot.  The AG's office gets to select the actual title as part of the CA ballot initiative process, by the way.

According to the individual who filed this proposed initiative with the AG's office, he thought the proposed title would generate press, which it did.   Obviously the story pierced Richard’s outrage bubble, although I doubt any normal people even noticed.  Also, none of the articles I skimmed remotely suggested the initiative was introduced in the legislature by a legislator, Democrat or otherwise.  So those are apparently Richard's own fabrications.
Well, that comes as a surprise to absolutely nobody.

It's hard to fathom how much damage one person can do.  I wonder what happened to all the checks and balances.

The off-ramp here seems to be several countries cutting bespoke trade deals with Trump, under the threat of crippling recession.    Even if the deals are simply a return to status quo, Trump can claim victory if long term recession is avoided and the market recovers.    This is a negotiating by bullies strategy.   It is wasteful, risky, pointless, and beyond arrogant.  Trump apparently views the stock market as a scorecard, so let’s hope he makes a lot of quick deals with our trading partners.
Well, we now know the answer to the question "What could possibly go wrong?" LOL

I agree that the chain of custody is moot, mainly since no one will ever be investigated or prosecuted over Burisma-gate or Hunter's laptop. Still,  I think it's an overstatement to say that *all* of the data is authentic. As far as I know, a particular subset of the data could have been tampered with, despite a copy of some clean data from the laptop being authenticated. In short, there is no doubt that the vast majority of the data is authentic, but still, some data could never be fully authenticated. Does it matter? Not a bit at this point.
So true, and this "Rank Determines the Spank" BS is a morale killer to those in the trenches.

Supreme Court orders Trump administration not to deport Venezuelans under Alien Enemies Act for now

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court in the early hours of Saturday told the Trump administration not to take any action to deport Venezuelan men based in Texas it alleges are gang members.

In a statement, Lee Gelernt, the lead ACLU attorney in the case, praised the Supreme Court's decision, saying, “These men were in imminent danger of spending their lives in a horrific foreign prison without ever having had a chance to go to court. We are relieved that the Supreme Court has not permitted the administration to whisk them away the way others were just last month.”
Curse that pesky constitution and the laws of the land!
