The president recognizes the limits of his authority, the validity of the 2nd amendment, and is implementing what he can within his powers, and the law.
But if you want to believe he's scared of you and your little pop-guns...go ahead, have at it...no harm, no foul. 8)

Well here's the big list of "tough new gun control measures" from Mr. Action. It looks like Boehner isn't the only wuss in town, the President has backed off in a big way. See, an armed citizenry can influence politicians. 8)

Bob - I think he's less afraid of the "pop guns" as you call them and much more so afraid of the people behind them. He knows that there are a lot of Democratic voters out there who also own firearms. Overstepping his Executive authority would shift many of them against him come midterm elections. They won by the skin of their teeth this time, any large shift could cause another 2010, and they don't want that.

What do they know about the constitution, anyway?

One wonders where those particular groups get their money? Oh, would you look at that, the majority of it comes from Federal grants. That's a shocker.

Another Assault Rifle/Another 5 Dead

Posted By Forrest Heinle

Another tragedy that very likely would not have been averted with an "assault weapons" ban and another excuse for liberals to trumpet on how they are evil and must be gotten rid of.

Conservatives post stories of how these same "evil" weapons saved lives, but that goes completely ignored, of course. It's funny how "1 life saved" is so important yet the lives that would be lost because of the ban are completely ignored.

I understand the underlying wish to remove gun violence. Living in a fantasy land where you push for an assault weapons ban when gun bans have been proven not to work, repeatedly, in multiple countries and our own country (see California, Chicago and DC) is downright dumb. We need to do something different. I'm not saying i have the answers, but we know what DOESN'T work and that's an assault weapons ban.

Senate Dems Plan New Push To Raise Taxes

Posted By Forrest Heinle

Dave Snope said:

They see a "great opportunity" ... to kill more jobs, further depress the economy, send more manufacturing overseas, engorge government even more, and, most importantly, to soak the rich. Because that's how they roll in demacatland.

(Washington Post) Senate Democrats plan to draft a budget blueprint that calls for significantly higher taxes on the wealthy, oil and gas companies and corporations doing business overseas, reopening a battle over taxes Republicans had hoped to lay to rest with the “fiscal cliff.

For nearly four years, Senate leaders have ducked their legal duty to craft a comprehensive budget framework. Now, however, Democrats see the budget process as “a great opportunity to pursue additional tax increases — and to create a fast-track process to push them through the Senate, Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.

And THIS, my friends, is why we are all up in arms about the assault weapons ban. How do they correlate? Easy. The Republicans caved and gave them the tax increase they wanted on top earners. What do they do? Instantly demand more. Give an inch, take a mile. That's the left's way. So if we give them the assault weapons ban, they'll be happy right until another bad event happens, and it will, and then they'll be trumpeting for confiscation.

Tony -

With all due respect to his grieving, what right does he have to say that my freedom is less important than a persons life and therefore it's okay to impinge on my freedom just because he feels it's okay to in this particular instance?? I am allowed to have a life, but the freedom to live it as a law abiding citizen can be infringed simply because some deranged individual i have nothing to do with did something crazy??? There is ZERO point in living if that life exists within a cage of man made laws that are put in place for every single potential eventuality that may ever occur at some point in time during any persons life while the earth exists. We are turning into a society that punishes those who wish to truly live life and exercise their freedoms because of the actions of a criminal who cares nothing for life or freedom.

Please see the attached video for someone who directly experienced the same sort of tragedy but managed to develop a COMPLETELY different outlook from it.

We don't know enough about this yet to make any sort of assertion, Rod. You're taking a story, making some massively huge assumptions, and then painting with a broad brush to further your agenda.

You could be right, but we don't know yet. You're doing what all the liberals in the media and Washington love to do. You find a story, and you jump on it before the bodies are even cold, twisting it 10 ways to Sunday to paint the picture you want people to see.

Why don't we wait for the investigation to occur and then see what happened, where he got the gun from, whether he truly had PTSD and needed help and should have been on a "list".

Rod, you need to understand why our side hates the "list" idea so much. We dislike it because people on your side would abuse the hell out of it. Your liberal buddies love to label those on our side and love to assassinate peoples credibility. The instant you create a list like that, your side will move heaven and earth to try to find ways to get people they hate (IE: Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck) on that list. I like the idea of a mental health list, but in practice, as with most liberal ideas, it just won't work due to the flaws in human nature that ruin in.

The secret war behind Benghazi

Posted By Forrest Heinle

I find it very interesting that Panetta basically testified, under oath, that Obama, Carney and the rest of his staff are all baldfaced liars, yet the liberal left media is ignoring it like the plague. How is it that they come out with pictures, and recounts of Obama checking in, hour by hour, etc. and yet Panetta now says, "Ummmm.... yeah, one call, that's it", and these lies, surrounding an Ambassadors death, are ignored as if nothing happened.

Can you imagine if Bush had been caught out in such a lie? They would have been working on the crosses immediately, put in an order for the nails and had the hammers ready and waiting. But because it's Obama.... nothing.

My guess is, they decided that politically it would make Obama look horribly bad, just before the election no less, to ignore something as serious as an embassy attack and an ambassadors death, so they ran through a dog and pony show for their friends in the media to trump up and not question. This would score Obama browny points and make sure it didn't hurt his re-election chances, because telling the truth would have looked awfully bad at a critical moment. Now that it's starting to come unglued and the fan is flinging it everywhere, they want to distance themselves from the stench, so they're letting Panetta tell the truth, Obama had nothing to do with the immediate response, knowing that their media pals won't question the lying, but instead simply push that Obama wasn't responsible for the mess.

Blue Brains/Red Brains

Pretty much what I already knew. Red brains fixating on the basic primitive fight or flight reflex-like activity, my way or the highway, everything's black and white with no shades, no compromise, pretty much what I see in the inane posts from the conservatives on the forum...

Pretty much what i already knew as well. The blue brains fixate on pie in the sky, airhead notions of political correctness, everything always has to be fair and the world revolves around a "perfect" government and what it can do for you with compromise meaning give my side what we want and we might think about compromising next time because we know better than you how to run your life, so just trust us.
