SERIOUS PROBLEM !!!

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

In the forums list I do not see any postings (or new threads) since about 05/18/04 3:31 PM except for a thread that I started at about 8:35 PM. They don't show on the collapsed or threaded. If I open threads there are postings after 3:31 PM, they just don't show up on the forum list.

In response to my post in the Politics forum you asked if I had my time set. The clock on my computer is set and the posts I make have the right date and time, but I do not see any clock or time settings in the "My Profile" or "Display Preferences".

This is a serious problem. If you can't fix it quickly, you might consider going back to the older format since the forums appear to be unusable.

P.S. I do see threads after 3:31 PM in the Day in the Life of the Administrator forum.

Will the truth ever come out?

With friends like this ...

>>> Navy Crew Remembers 1967 Israeli Attack

>>> Crew member Moe Shafer, 57, said the attack was one of the largest cover-ups in history. He said Israel targeted the ship, hoping the United States would conclude the Arabs were responsible. The Americans then would have retaliated and ensured Israel's victory, he said.

>>> Steve Forslund, 60, and Ron Gotcher, 57, were enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and worked as intelligence analysts for the Joint Chiefs of Staff when the attack occurred.

>>> Gotcher, who was stationed in Vietnam, and Forslund, who was at Offutt Air Force Base outside Omaha, both saw transcripts of Israeli air-to-air and air-to-ground communication during or after the attack. Both said Israel knew the ship was American and was out to sink it.

>>> Retired Navy Capt. Ward Boston, the former counsel for the Navy's Court of Inquiry, released a signed affidavit in October, stating he was ordered by President Lyndon Johnson and his defense secretary, Robert McNamara, to conclude the attack was unintentional, despite evidence to the contrary.

Cover Up or Incompetence?

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

One would think that if your top aid was informed of abuse and didn't keep on top of it or inform you, that you and/or your aid are either incompetent or are participating in a cover-up.

>>> The officer, Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski, also said General Sanchez visited a military intelligence unit at Abu Ghraib at least three times in October, when the first of the worst abuses were taking place. And while General Sanchez has said he did not learn of the abuses until Jan. 14, General Karpinski said his top deputy, Maj. Gen. Walter Wojdakowski, was present at a meeting in late November at which there was extensive discussion of a Red Cross report that cited specific cases of abuse.

Kudos to Homeland Security!

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

My little business had a visit from NCIS this morning. It turns out that a Military Radio I was selling on an auction site was actually a crypto device. Even with no name or part number, someone in Homeland Defense found out about it. They raised hell with the Navy and next thing I know NCIS was picking the item up.

The Special Agent that came to the shop looked a lot like the star of the TV show. He was very professional, I was impressed. I'm just glad that I don't have a beard and wear a turban. I need some time off, but not in Gitmo. 8O

In any case, my congratulations to our security forces, they do seem to be talking to each other. Downside - I imagine every key stroke I make will be seen by an extra set of eyes about for a while (not just you Herb wink ).

Another Question

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

This is from the Timeline thread:

>>> When George Bush lost the Republican New Hampshire primary to John McCain, Bush's dirty tricks squad used a vicious scheme called "push polling," to smear the Senator in South Carolina. They pretended to conduct an independent opinion poll throughout the state and asked voters: "If you knew that John McCain fathered a black child out of wedlock, would you be more or less likely to vote for him?" Although the reference was about McCain's adopted daughter from Bangladesh, South Carolina voters turned against McCain and he lost.

Do you think that a someone who uses this kind or treacherous, dishonest attack on John Kerry, a fellow republican and true war hero, should be the moral and ethical leader of America? Yes of No?
