It's not you, it's the GOP that has changed over time (and not for the good). They are unrecognizable as the GOP of the Reagan years.

Let me put it this way.   If society was not broken Trump would not be the darling of a majority of modern Rs and if society were not broken the left would not celebrate entitled semi-adults chanting “from the river to the sea” while threatening classmates.
I don't think that's a very good example.  These "entitled semi-adults chanting “from the river to the sea” while threatening classmates" are not the people running for office. On the other hand, the GOP is now controlled by the worst the right has to offer.

Let me put it this way.  The upcoming election is not about a choice between a convicted felon/sex-offender and some entitled idiotic semi-adults who happen to identify as "left".  It's about a choice between a convicted felon/sex-offender and someone who by comparison is pretty normal and seemingly competent.

I hope that made sense!

The cult of MAGA creator and leader is running for office!

True dat.

I disagree. He lost last time and he's even more unpopular now - that doesn't seem like a path to victory.

Also, as detailed by Nate Silver, the electoral college favors Trump.  Harris could easily win the "popular vote" by 1 or 2% and still lose the election.

The good analysis here might be behind a paywall, I pay a nominal fee to see Silver's full analysis.  I think some of it is public though.  Not sure how much:   https://www.natesilver.net/p/nate-silver-2024-president-election-polls-model

Silver has the race for winning the Electoral College and election at about 60/40 in favor of Trump, which is effectively a tie. Jim
Too bad you're so far away.  I'd like to wager a beer on it!  I'm an optimist.

Ok, you're on.  You might have to remind me after this is all over. My memory isn't what it used to be. smile

Both candidates strategy was very public before the debate.

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) said.

“It wasn’t a hidden strategy. [The Harris campaign] were literally telling people, ‘Hey, we’re gonna go out there and we’re gonna try to get under Donald Trump’s skin. This is the strategy. We’re gonna get under his skin, and we’re gonna let Donald be Donald,’” the lawmaker said….”

And

“The Donald Trump strategy was also very public. ‘We’re gonna make sure we don’t let her get under our skin,’” Moskowitz went on. “And literally, 11 minutes in, she goes, ‘crowd size,’ and he goes: ‘Viktor Orbán. They’re eating puppies and cats.’”

I’d say the Harris campaign has lots of sound bites for this ads, but it they ran them now they’d never get Trump to agree to another debate.
That's some funny stuff right there.  My first thought was "he'll never agree to another debate after that one", but then again, he might.  He's just not smart enough to realize that he's not smart enough to hold his own in a debate (let alone win one). LOL

I would be hating life right now if I were one of that knucklehead's advisors. They are getting the blame for his performance (it's not his fault!)

I guess this is the best that MSNBC's Hee Haw has to offer up? LOL

Oh, wait, she wasn't Haitian anyway.  Never mind.  And she wasn't in Springfield.

So NO incident.

Except for the one woman who overheard her poolboy saying he had heard it from his cousin that there was a rumour from a truck driver  in Springfield who was at a BBQ where someone thought they saw a cat on the grill and a Haitian standing nearby.  Vance ran with this?????

Boggles the mind.

Interesting quotes from JD Vance:

“If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people, then that’s what I’m going to do.”

"It's media's job to fact check, not mine."

So, what sort of person would ever believe anything this admitted liar says?
