I just got back myself from a few great days in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, at least the eastern end. I also took my time coming back through the western Lower Peninsula starting about 30 miles east of the Mackinac Bridge on the north shore of Lake Huron, across the bridge then on to the famous Tunnel of Trees which starts in Cross Village It was early on Monday morning and had the whole narrow smooth asphalt roadway, mostly without a center line, all to myself for the first 19 of it's 30 miles or so. Saw eight cars before I reached the end in Petoskey. If you are ever in norther lower Michigan it's a must do drive. Here are some images and obviously most are taken in the fall, but anytime of year is awesome. Being summer some of the views of Lake Michigan below the bluffs were somewhat obscured by foliage.

Then I drove around the Leelanau Peninsula (Michigan little finger of the Mitt) on M22 from Traverse City north along Grand Traverse Bay to Northport, then it becomes M22 south following the Lake Michigan shoreline through the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore and the sand dunes, past beautiful Crystal Lake, and then ended at the port town of Frankfort. I turned SW away from the coast to head back home, but still had 70 miles of two lane highways until I hit a freeway in Clare. What an awesome, but very long drive in my Miata with the top down the whole way. My wife would have hated it, she only put up with that car until we reached a destination. Go for a ride just because? No way. I had a blast but was very tired when I got home.
I kept checking here to see if there was any discussion of any of the recent political news and have since even mentioned Trump's antics at the NABJ meeting and got nothing.
Anyways, as to the first part of my title I got most of this from Google:
For the plot structure of a good story (or an internet forum in our case) to come to life, it needs both a recognizable protagonist and antagonist with whom the audience can connect with. The interaction of these characters creates both conflict and drama.
Without them, you have no climax or resolution (as if that'd ever happen here LOL), and the story( or forum) will be flat and uninteresting.
What is the Difference Between a Protagonist and Antagonist?
The protagonist of a story is the leading character, while the antagonist is their primary opponent. Both are nouns. Often (but not always, especially in our forum), the protagonist is the good guy or hero, while the antagonist is the villain who actively opposes the protagonist or is a hostile force. (Here it depends on who starts a thread and how divisive it it.

I guess this is a roundabout way of saying where are our antagonist9s)? Jim Brown is much too polite to replace the one who really gets this place into a hubbub. Now I'm sure Davis (shit, I mentioned his name) will now come out of the woodwork and I'll be accused of secretly being in love with him.
Ick. Excuse me while I go wash my mouth out with soap for saying that.
Anyone know of a good brain disinfectant so I can get that thought out of my brain, too?
I once heard his idol Trump say "I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning? As you see, it gets in the lungs, it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that."
And: "So supposing we hit the body with a tremendous — whether it's ultraviolet or just a very powerful light — and I think you said that hasn't been checked because of the testing,"
"supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or some other way, and I think you said you're going to test that, too."
Yeah, maybe it'll work on just the brain by eliminating sick thoughts, too? LOL.
What do any of the Trump supporters that may still be here have to say about the above presidential quote after it's percolated in your minds for the last three and a half years? Your guy said it four years ago, do you think he's any more cognizant now that he was on that day? To any thinking person that quote should forever disqualify him to be anything but being a retired, privileged, old, rich, and stupid white guy who has gotten every break imaginable his whole life.
Anyways, wasted too much time with this. Back to yard work.
Hi Jim,
I was just back in Michigan a couple weeks ago settling some family estate issues. I didn't realize how much I missed the cicadas - I forgot just how loud they are!
