I just don't like knee-jerk reactions. Before you conservatives cheer, remember how easily the Patriot act can be abused.
I too am very worried that politicians are using the emotional events of Sandy Hook to pass gun control laws. In fact I am downright scared right now after seeing Cuomo's state of the state address in New York. I'm a moderate conservative that didn't join the gun buying spree's after Obama's elections, but Cuomo's antics and speech style on stage reminded me of Hitler's. His repeated references to "common sense" gun control and his assertion that no one "needs" 10 rounds to kill a deer are the worst type of mischaracterization of the second amendment that exists. New York already has a 10 round magazine restriction and he wants to take it down to 7 rounds. 8O I don't live in New York, but when he says others may follow New York's lead I believe him. Their precedent would be a really bad one.
Laws passed in the heat of the moment are almost always the WORST laws and because of this, I've made a decision to arm up before prices get too high. If that puts me in the ranks of the "gun nuts", then so be it. But I will NEVER register or allow my guns to be taken.
