Snow Snake--Photographic Proof!!

This is an extremely rare species, and this is to my knowledge the first real photo proof of their existence! This one was photographed by a friend near Moscow on a late night ski trip. Apparently nocturnal, it is not known what they would be eating under such frigid conditions.
I suspect that the Russian Snow Snake is closely related to the Alaskan Snow Snake. Snow snakes are thought to be extinct in the lower 48 states, and are endangered everywhere due to Global Warming.

Apparently this species isn't so rare. Look at all the others climbing the trees in the background.

Hmmm... I thought their normal habitat was on ski slopes, where they tend to grab your bindings and make you fall (usually while showing off)...
