Hey guys. I wanted to show my first long exposure ever. I recently purchased a 20D setup from here and used my SVP with dual drives. I don't know how good of an alignment I got but it was quick. This is a 135 second exposure at ISO 400 with and 300mm. A cheap 70-300 from by Promaster. Anybody got any tips for using this setup? I want to try to get another scope as a guider and do a prime focus with my Meade 90mm. I know it won't do very good photos but I'll give it all I got. Thanks in advance.

Good job! I wish you could see my first attempt....well, maybe not. Did you do any adjusting on the image? Is your sky actually dark? Here is what I get....this is a 2 min. exposure with a Nikon D-70 at ISO 1600 through a 6" f/4 RFT...before and after adjusting levels with photoshop. I am in the inner part of Oklahoma City, and can see stars all the way down to 4th mag....

Good picture... if that's your first ever long exposure, what will come next ? It took me more than one year to get something like that. The alignment looks good... You must have digitally processed it to get rid of light pollution, right ?
Watch out for planes, you have one passing through the picture in the lower left corner (if Astromart always displays pics with the same orientation). It also looks like you have some flare from the lens, near the center of Orion, but below it, visible against the black background.
