Piggybacking AT1010 to 8" LX200 Question

Is it better to get split rings and mount solidly without ability to adjust or better to get 3point mount rings?

I plan on using the at1010 to guide for the LX200 with a webcam but also plan on using the at1010 for primefocus photography using the LX200 as the guide scope?

What do the rest of you do?

Thanks,
Scott

PS. - I have posted this in Equipment forum also but I figure you allhave the most experience with this.

Try this fellow out: http://www.myweb.cableone.net/hurricane4/Equip.html

He's got a SV78 on his LX200.

I bought the AT1010 initially with the tripod and mount from stellarvue but decided to piggyback this on my N9.25GPS. I bought the losmandy setup which includes dovetail, the two dovetail attachments (DA)and finally the rings from stellarvue. The rings were of course designed for the AT1010 with the intention to attach them to the losmandy DA. The rings are three pronged rubbertipped and high quality. The losmandy is standard losmandy high quality. It took about 10lbs of counterweight on my setup to balance. I hope this helps.
