I took this afocal single exposure tonight (make sure to enlarge to full size in browser)

The disk of Mars seems to have resolved nicely considering the stats: Full Moon in the field of view (with a little vignetting), 60mm Tasco refractor on a non-tracking wobble mount, 20mm generic Plossl EP, Kodak Z730 point-n-shoot camera.

Greetings Jason:

WOW, that's a spectacular capture, you should send it off to Spaceweather.com, I'm sure they would post it immediately since they're talking about this conjunction. It's not easy to get a $1,000 photo from a $100 scope, congratulations. I think I can even see the "NPC" on the right side of your Mars image, that would be its north pole. You sure are lucky to be living in warm and sunny Florida, that's an ideal location for planetary imaging and golfing, take it easy.

Cheers, Dan grin

Nice Image from that small scope! I tried but because of freezing wind and fast moving clouds, couldn't get much details.
Thanks for sharing,
Ansuman.
