Mars image through 130mm spaceprobe

This is a stack(registax)of 15 photos taken afocal with a 2.0 MP Sony Cybershot through 10mm/2x barlow. This is through a 130mm Orion Space probe on an EQ-2 mount.

I am curious if this is about as good as I can expect through this scope, or can I improve my shots in someway other than a new scope. Planning an upgrade but not probably for another year.

suggestions welcome...

Jeff, nice try! 8)
The method you are using is NOT the best one for planetary shots, as it is tough to keep a steady hand while shooting. Also, since good Seeing moments come and go, the chances of getting a good shot are very slim.

The best way is for you to get a webcam, like a Toucam Pro, and get a video, which could have 1000+ frames, which you then combine into one, using a program like Registax...

Some people have also done this with Digital Camcorders and such, but a Webcam is the best bet without spending too much money...
