Hi all,
Tried for the first time imaging through our 16 "Newton which came back from southern France, it was build up again by a member of our public observatory. The mirror is capable of showing stunning views of the deepsky but on the planets we didn't know for sure. So last night was a night with fair conditions. regretly Jupiter didn't came loose from a rooftop nearby with the planet at 30 degrees but I am satisfied with the result so far
Best regards Jan

Hi Jan,
it sounds like a difficult catch smile but the result is good.

Would you mind giving me a little more data, such as the scope focal length, no. of images captured and stacked, and all you can give me. High F ratio Newtonians should be good performers on planets, but that is mostly what I heard and I have no direct experience.

Thanks Jan for posting this image.

Luca

Hi Jan,

A very nice looking image. It must be very tough to get a nice shot of Jupiter with the planet so low in altitude.

Clear skies,

That's one nice shot Jan!
What camera did you use? If you used a webcam, might want to lower your gain a lil' bit, as it is taking over your whole image...

You've managed to capture quite a bit of detail though, considering your conditions...
