IC 1805 and 1848 with D60

At a quite clear night I could get the 2 faint emission nebula as a 2 part mosaic with the D60 and a piggibacked 180mm lens with total 70 minutes real exposure time plus darks.

The processing took quite a long time to get the faint parts out;

Ron's tip with the minimum-darken filter applied to the blue channel helped very much to get rid of the strong halo (coma?) in the blue.

There's actually a lot more here even than what you've been able to pull out so far. I removed a little green (from light pollution?), and boosted the overall histogram a bit, and removed the halos using the Adjust Hue/Saturation tool. [Click on the Blue channel only, then use the eye-dropper tool in the Adjust Hue/Saturation tool to pick up only the desired shades of blue and magenta, the desaturate.]

your blue halos are from false color generated by the achromatic camera lens. Minus violet or similar light yellow filter will help, but will likely also skew the rest of the color info.

Nice image Johannes. Raising the black point for green
then lowering the white level for RGB does bring out a lot
more detail. A noise reducing filter followed by a few
light iterations of adaptive Richardson-Lucy cleans up the
stars and background. This version has more contrast.
