Hello everyone.
I am useing a Quickcam VC attached to a Celestron 8". I can't get any detail on Mars. I use eyepiece projection with a Televue 8mm Plossl. CAN ANYONE HELP ME?
My skies are fantastic, I think its just, myself not knowing how to image Mars.
If you can contact me before Midnight (central time) that would be great. Since I am going to image it at that time. (or starting to set up)! smile
Thanks and Clear Skies,
Justin Parish

HI Justin,

Have you imaged anything else such as the Moon or Jupiter before trying Mars? Are you sure you are getting a decent focus? Did you look at some amateur's web pages that have used that camera with a C-8 to see their results? Mars is about half the size of Jupiter right now. It can be a little difficult to get a lot of detail with a C-8 depending on how much atmosphere you are looking through.
