This is my first attempt at imaging Mars with my N11GPS and a Toucam camera. I know there's a lot of learning yet to do - I'd be appreciative of any suggestions for improving my abilities. Seeing was not that great due to ground fog - very humid, warm night in northern Ohio.

Hi John,
Actually, The conduitions you are talking about are ideal for high resolution planet imaging. The warm, moist, hazey air helps stableize the atmosphere. The ground fog is even better. It looks like a focusing issue or perhaps your scopes collmination. If your collmination is of just a little bit, it will degrade your imaging potential. Of course first images are always a bit rough and your image is better than my first attempt. Check your focus and colmination and you should get some outstanding images from an 11" scope. Keep imaging and they will always get better. Have fun smile
