Here is my first attempt at Mars using a webcam.

Still getting familiar with K3CCD and Registax. IR Pass filter is in route, can't wait to try it out. Made the mistake of processing on laptop and then transferring to desktop to send out. Sure looked different (color wise) on the CRT screen.

Thanks to all the good information and beautiful images I have seen on this site I avoided a numbers of mistakes but still a lot to learn!

Any recommendations welcome.

Chase

Hello Chase,

That is a very nice first attempt. Much better than the first time I imaged mars.

smile Robert, Edward, Kirk and Rolando,

Thanks for your encouragement. I plan to go back and re-work this image once I get my home network back up and can transfer these large files more easily.

Can't wait for the moon to get higher so I can play with my new toys on the moon.

Clear skies,
Chase

Here is the same AVI file of my first Mars video image re-stacked and re-worked using Registax 2, 482 out of 965 frames, wavelets, gamma and contrast; then finishing up in Photoshop CS using unsharp mask, sharpen, curves, levels and color balance.

I used my desktop computer which is faster, has a better screen and color controls.

Clear skies,
Chase
