Hi all. I got some clear skies last night and decided to try imaging with my Ultima 2000 8" SCT. I had some guiding problems and a host of other issues, but I ended up with a decent image of M51. Once I get my guiding issues worked out, I would like to try this again. Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Mount - Losmandy G-11/Gemini
Camera - SBIG ST2000XM with Custom Scientific LRGB Filter Set and IDAS LPR
Acquired inn Maxim DL 4 - Processed in Maxim and Photoshop
L 10 min x 3 unbinned:RGB 5 min x 2 each binned 2x2

Nice shot, Tyler. It looks like you need a little more signal to smooth the image but that will come with longer guiding.

Hi again,
I think I lost my head with the unsharp masking on the first posting. Here is a version with no sharpening. I think I like it better.... what do you think?
