NGC 253

Hello All !

Well decided to take a trip up the mountains last night and try and get some data on my chip.
It was cloudy for most of the night so I didn't manage much exposure but hey you live with what you get I guess.
Anyway his 10 minute x 4 of NGC253 shot with the SXV-H9C through a WO 105 apo @ f/6.3.
All comments and advice welcomed 8)

A couple of comments.

Sculptor is a dusty galaxy and the surrounds should be more brown and the centre glowing yellow. It also has a bluish tinge around the ring.

The stars seem a bit bloated to me for an APO refractor. I suspect IR bloat. Perhaps try using a Baader UV/IR block filter. Also double check your focus to make sure it is as sharp as you can get.

You have a fairly highly magnified image scale there but that 105 F6.2 TMB lens should be sharper than that, something is affecting it or the focus is off. I think Warren used a Baader UV/IR block filter with his SXV H9C so perhaps you can ask him how much difference it makes.
