IC443 Ha from Utah

Hi all. I imaged this one the same night as M3, but it took a while to do the processing. I still need more data to smooth things out, but it is a start. This is my first successful Ha imaging attempt. I used an Astronomik 15nm bandpass Ha filter with my ST2000XM on the Tak Sky90. This exposure is 40 minutes (4x10).

Nice, Tyler! H-alpha processing is different from regular luminance or LRGB, isn't it? That constantly catches me by surprise.

Cool! It looks like you had good tracking and the 15nm lets more stars through. I think it looks better. Propus always buggers up this object but it looks better in your shot than it does in my image of this object.

Very nicely done Tyler. I just love what can be pulled out with HA. I think the wider HA bandwidth is a good choice.

Very nice shot Tyler. You're in deep now . I use the same setup - ST2K and Astronomik. I've found that the longer the exposures the better. I normally shoot 900 ~ 1200 seconds in Ha now and I shoot at least 10 of those. That's where it starts paying off. Don't have to stretch as much and DDP works wonders. Remember Ha is really dim so it pays off to expose longer.
