If I may be serious for a moment (it's hard), the nature of this forum is one of often heated debate. Sometimes it's a slow burn or a simmer, sometimes it's set all the way up to broil.
It's not about hate or destroying anything. Everyone on this forum is simply out to combat ideas that they feel are so shatteringly wrong they cannot remain silent about it. It's Enlightenment vs. Ignorance, and bouncing arguments off each other about why I'm right you're wrong yada yada yada.
It's the nature of the beast, and the reason this forum was created, to keep this rubbish from polluting the astronomy-related forums. It's also dangerously addicting sometimes. :-D
