Five years after student Matthew Shepard was killed, touching off a national dialogue on gay rights, a group wants to put up a monument in Shepards hometown to his murder.

1. It's too bad that mentally unbalanced bigots and their views seem to make so many headlines.

2. It's funny to me when a "reverend's wife" , or anyone for that matter, pronounces God's judgement on someone else. The scriptures are explicit that judgement is the Lord's and that we should "judge not, lest we be judged".
A certain forum contributor of the past with the initals PT was a regular god-like judge of the people.

3. If you believe in God, you must also believe that he will ultimately work out the judgements and punishments for murderers and hate mongers - after all we can do. If you do not believe in God, then you must be satisfied that mortal men will never get it all correct - and just work to right the injustices.

That makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. I still remember when Fred Phelps and his bunch of morons picketed the funeral.

What a celebration of hate and ignorance. And the attempt to justify such a warped idea in terms of religion is particularly obscene. Absolutely amazing...

We discussed this topic on a Christian Forum already and we all agreed that it is deplorable.
How someone can call themselves a Christian and say the things this so-called "minister" does is beyond me.
I went to this guy's web site and if you ask me he could develop into another Jim Jones with the blind following the blind. Sad indeed.
This kind of deplorable behavior only drags Christ's name through the mud.
