Sorry, but I can't get on board the conspiracy theory here. It was such a huge moment in our country's history, such a shock, and such a turning point, it is difficult for people to accept the idea that it wasn't planned by some powerful shadowy network. The more I learn about LHO though, the more I believe he did act alone. He was both fully inclined and capable of doing so. JFK was not his first attempted assassination either.

Joe, Would you mind elaborating a bit on what you found out about Oswald that leads you to your conclusion. DR

If you are truly interested in Oswald, I suggest the book "Case Closed" by Gerald Posner.

About half the book is about LHO, the other half about the JFK assasination and alleged conspiracy.

Darian, I was probably most influenced by watching the excellent program on Oswald shown by PBS Frontline. Here is a great link to that program for more information:

I guess I would say 75% of me believes Oswald acted alone. It is true Kennedy had his enemies though, and some folks have made a compelling case for conspiracy.

Having read every book available pro and con concerning the JFK assassination, I think the movie JFK, by Oliver Stone, comes close to being what the actual scenario was in Dallas that fateful day. The eyewitness accounts of those close to the grassy knoll, and most importantly, the picture of the 3 "Hobo's", one of which I am most sure was Woody Harrelson's father, known to be a hired assassin and later put in prison for murdering a judge, plus the magic bullet theory put forth by the Warren Commission, all lead to the absolute certainty of a conspiracy. When LHO purported himself to be a "patsy", I think he was right on the money. He had been handled by others to be put in close proximity to the conspiracy and the shooters, such that they had a perfect "lone gunman" waiting to be killed by Jack Ruby, so as to silence his voice and help spin the governments' "lone gunman" theory. Eisenhour had previously warned of the influence and power of a military-industrial complex, and I think that same complex was JFK's downfall.

Whether the military-industrial complex was JFK's downfall or not will likely continue to be a mystery, but Eisenhour's warning is worth heeding today at least as much as it was when he issued it.

Oswald was involved in a conspiracy to assassinate JFK just as the groundwork was being laid to fake the moon landings, cover up Paul McCartney's death, and hide the evidence of a crashed flying saucer in Area 51 . I think the Easter Bunny was the wheel man for Oswald, too. I'm sorry if I sound sarcastic, but there is ample evidence for a solo attack on JFK and these conspiracy notions simply play on our fears. In turn, they make us easy prey for people who would sell us on books, films, and websites that reinforce those fears. The real conspiracy is entitled "Let's Make A Buck On The Rubes" and the perpetrators don't even need black helicopters to carry it out!
