Everyone take a look at this. (Don't cringe, a little Fox won't kill you....maybe)

What do you think? Dangerous? Yes? No?

I find it incredibly odd that he would appoint a Republican as Commerce Secretary, giving the conservatives a bone so to speak, and then quite promptly yank away what is arguably the most important part of his job.

Partisan politics as usual? (Something Obama swore up and down he wouldn't do) or is he just trying to make sure the Census goes right? Or is he trying to make sure the Census goes "left"?

Interested in opinions since this could easily get swept under the rug with all the stimulus talk. I'm wondering if that might not be Obama's plan. Make a little power grab over here while i've directed everyone's attention over there.

I just read about this on the Salt Lake City Tribune website last night. Read the comments on that site in response to what their own Republican leaders have been doing, year after year. It makes this look like a walk in the park, and the Republicans from Utah are the ones who are witching about it. Geez...

My first thought was that this unusual move might allow gerrymandering on a grand scale. The census is important, but I didn't think that Barack had a sinister motive. However, the mainstream press should be asking questions about this move.

Imagine if Cheney controlled a census under Bush. Think that would raise some eyebrows.
