Divide and conquer

The news on Bin Laden's latest communique is an excellent example of how damaging negative press coverage of this effort can be. He is trying to use the news of the Halliburton charges to encite more violence against US forces by claiming that we are profiteering on the Iraqis.

I'm curious. What would you do if you knew that OBL was reading each one of our posts on this forum?

I wouldn't do anything differently, except perhaps to affirm that OBL WILL burn in hell,
and the sooner the better. The desire to get rid of him and his ilk is no stronger
in one party over the other AFAIC. Different methods and repercussions I reckon,
but the same outcome, at least so far as OBL is concerned.

Funny thing, when I first read the header, "Divide and conquer", I thought the thread was
going to be about how GWB has succeeded in polarizing the electorate so drastically.
The "conquer" part didn't really fit though.

Every post? Well then in every post I submitted from now on I'd share my idea with him: "when we find you, it would be nice if we could cut you up into 3000 pieces, stick each one in a little bottle of formaldahyde, and auction them off to the highest bidders to pay for the war on terror and provide punitive damages to the families of those killed on 9/11."

Can't you just imagine your own little slice of OBL, placed prominently on the mantle in your living room? Who wouldn't pay for that?!?

If OBL thinks that such discussion and criticism of the Administration is a sign of weakness, then he completely misunderstands how a truly free society and democracy functions.

If anyone expects that this discussion ought to be limited or otherwise curtailed because it "emboldens" our enemies, they also completely misunderstand how a truly free democratic society functions.

Who's the weaker for it? Us or OBL?
