SO the other day I got polled...

The usual questions, but one made me think.

Do you feel this country is heading down the right or wrong track?

My answer was no, but not for the same reason that others would offer a no. (for the record, I indicated I was somewhat dissatisfied with Obama, more on that later)

As a fiscally conservative, socially liberal moderate (mushball middle as my father in law says, slightly libertarian I would say)I am fairly average I think when it comes to my views amongst my generation.

So why do I think this country is headed down a wrong path?

When I see an enormous group of the populace willing to cast aside their so called moral convictions to put up a man for president that has a history and a belief system that uses lies as a main tenet of his foundation.

For the christians among you

Now I KNOW for a fact that in the bible christians are asked to be true to their word about life and god, even to the point of death.

Why would christians (if they were truly following the scriptures) find it ok to so strongly support a man whose faith actually condones a practice that the christian god abhors? Why would christians (again, if they were truly following the scriptures) so strongly support an individual that has a far worse track record for telling the truth than his opponent?

And for everybody else, the recent faux pas of Romney regarding the slaying of 4 American personnel, and continuing protests point out something plainly obvious.

Romney is running for office for himself, not for the country. In a time of crisis, on September 11 no less, without skipping a beet Romney manages to take said crisis and turn it into a political tool. Now, I seem to recall several folks here accusing Obama and Emanuel of doing the same thing. What is clearly disturbing is the support for a man that obviously is not putting his country first, as should be expected of the commander in chief. Where is the compassion? Where is the presidential composure?

Romney is more looking for a notch on the bedpost than helping this country. If he were truly interested in doing something for US, citizens of the United States of America, he would start spelling out details. At least other former republican hopefuls had some ideals to stand on, but instead the republican base sold themselves out for the most "electable" guy.

That is why this country is going down the wrong path, it has less to do with politicians, and a whole lot more to do with society, democrats and republicans, (both are guilty) turning their back on core beliefs. At this point we are yet again picking the lesser of two evils, we can stick with what we know though may dislike (or hate for some of you)...or we can go with the guy that won his nomination with the shameful support of individuals who turned their backs on god and country to put up the most "electable" man.

Democrats did the same thing with Kerry, and Obama. Hillary was thrown under the bus because Obama was more electable. Kerry...lets just say Wesley or Howard were quite fine candidates, and picking Kerry instead of Dean lost the Democrats the election.

its 2004 all over again.

we are screwed

It is what it is...
