Hi,

I've just picked up the new Canon Rebel XT and plan on using it for bird photos (will be retiring my old Nikon 4500). Any opinions on the best way to add the new camera to the scope? I plan on experimenting with a Zeiss 80 Diascope, Takhahashi FS102, and 6" Mak. I also have a 70-300 mm telephoto (Sigma II) that I will try playing with.

Thanks!
Dave

Dave, I just purchased my first SLR as well (a D70). I use mine with a Questar, a C5, and a Ranger. For the Tak and Mak you can get a T ring and photo adapter and just insert it into the focuser tube prime focus (no lens). That's the only way I can use mine at the moment as I don't have a long focus lens.

I would be very interested in reports on the Sigma II. I would like to have a autofocus telephoto for close in shots but funds are limited after the D70 purchase. Please post some reports when you have a chance to try it.
