Greetings All,
I have seen some beautiful photos and drawings of Mars in this forum and CCD Imaging. I have a question: All of these photos show a distict brightening on Mar's western limb (on the right of the photo/drawing). What exactly is causing this? Is it sunlight reflected off of ice crystals in the air or something? Martian "dew"? Does anyone know the source of this light?
Thanks, and keep up the great work! I'm really amazed at the quality of the observations here.
Clear nights ... dark sites,
Darren
