This may be comparing apples to oranges, but if a person is looking for a great planetary scope, which would be better?
Oh, yea...here's the catch, this will be mainly used in my backyard...Thoughts?...Chris Brown

I would take the 9.25 for two reasons personally.

1. Larger aperature...both are excellent planetary scopes from what i read.
2. A buddy of mine has a 7" Mac and tells me that it takes about 2 hrs for the glass to reach air temp. My C8 takes about 10-15 minutes typically.

Other than that, either would be a good planetary scope IMHO.

What kind of mount were you considering for the 9.25?If you went with he Nexstar series, its about a tie,if yoy go with the CGE series advantage Celestron, with the Advanced series [CG-5] advantage Meade.
