Mars June 18, 2003

Conditions were very good this morning here in New Orleans. I managed to wake up before the mosquitoes and enjoyed a really nice view.

I did not see any real cloud formation other than the a.m. limb haze toward the north (right, bottom). I am starting to see a lot more detail now as Mars grows to around 15", including the labelled features on the Mars Previewer simulation.

An excellent image of Mars showing a good amount of detail over the martian disk. Not many clouds visible at this time. I look forward to your future images of Mars as it grows in apparent size.
