Live in Cincinnati Ohio area and its 12:30am...
nothing but clouds. I even took of work this year to see the storm. Anybody out there have anything to say yet ? anybody close to me with clear skies ?

Well, due to a stomach virus that has run amok in our household these past few
days, I was unable to make it to my local dark sky site for the meter shower. So, like any good
astronomer, I made due with what I had. Crystal clear with a LVM of between 4 &
4.5 here in East San Diego, I set up shop at 1:50am. Broke out the camera on the tripod and started
shooting/observing. In a word, SPECTACULAR! I counted 109 by the time I pocked it in
at 3:12am, with at least 10 showing high brilliance and long vapor trails. One
interesting one was spotted right next to 40 Leonis, where it didn't shoot
across, it just flared up like a green ball. I was shooting in that area, so I
hope it comes out. All in all, I snapped about 10 to 12 shots, the longest
being 8 minutes.
Can't wait to hear how it was at a dark sky site...

Maitland FLorida (near Orlando), my daughter and I observed 101 meteors from 5:15 to 6:00am in my suburban driveway with obstructed views (large oak trees) to the east and north east as well as partial obstructed view to the west. Fair amount of light pollution also. Skies were perfectly clear, temp. 55 degrees. All things considered, I think the show was great (my ten year old daughter thinks so too!).

Here in southern Mionnesota we had a good show. Skies were not good, bright moon and cirrus. Activity certainly picked up after 4.15 CST. I observed 181 between 4.30 and 5.30 (less about 15 minutes for camera breaks). The wife saw 121 between 4.50 and 5.25. Considerable 'bunching' with as many a 6 within a couple of seconds. Rates were dropping off after 5.15. Saw 'only' 23 in the final 15 minutes. Not a real storm, but after missing last year's show, it was the best display I have seen.

Quite a few of my students came out for a while and seemed to enjoy themselves. For most though the sight of Saturn and Jupiter through a telescope for the first time was the hit of their night!

I saw about 100 per second.. It was the best I've ever seen them.. they were like fireworks going off.. Just unbeleivable... I couldn't beleive this could be happening...Unfortunetly I woke up and realized it was only a dream !!! I looked out my bedroom window and there were the dismal clouds !!!!!

Maybe in another lifetime I'll get to see them...
