I have a 12 inch LX90 with UHTC.

I am trying to get a consensus of opinions on this subject:

Do you find that there are any filters that are of value in bringing out details in galaxies?

If so, which filters and on which galaxies have you found them helpful?

Clear skies.........Mike

Mike, IMHO, there are NO filters that will bring out GALAXY details... ONLY Dark Skies will... 8)

It is always worth a try to observe some galaxies with filters, perhaps M33. But, it is likely with most, dark skies is the answer. However, if nebula still are in your future you may want to check out this link.
