Light Pollution

I have 2 Celestron 114mm reflectors. A Firstscope and a Nexstar which I dont get a chance to use very often. Since I usualy look at planets or the moon I am thinking of getting a 90 or 120mm refractor. My question is does one design or the other have an advantage when dealing with light pollution?

Ron; I started a thread a few days ago on filter selection which contains a wealth of information from our experienced contributors. Plus it became apparent that with filters, commonly larger is better since you do loose light with a filter.

I don't think light pollution is much of an issue for the planets and moon (as long as we're not talking Pluto, anyway). In fact, you can sometimes see more contrast in Jupiter and Saturn by viewing at dusk or sunrise (now _that's_ light pollution).

I'd go for the larger scope: a bigger aperture means better resolution (ie: you can see finer details).
