I need to replace the focuser on my 10" Orion Dob. I would like to go with a two speed type any one have any suggestions?

Moonlight makes the CR2 focuser that is excellent. They also have bases that mate directly to Orion tubes. Also there is Startlight Instruments "Feathertouch". Both are incredible focusers.

Have you tried reworking your current focuser? Diassembling, cleaning off that famous Chinese grease and reassembling it carefully, especially with a bit of added teflon in the right places, can make a significant difference. I won't be a smooth as a fancy focuser but it can do the job.

I have a JMI NGC-DX1 on my Intes MN56 and I love it.

A few years ago I upgraded the fence on my Delta table saw to a Unifence, several friends told me it was overkill for the amount I use the saw, but everytime I use the saw I am thankful for the precision of that fence. I have the same feeling everytime I turn the JMI.
There are certain things in life that everytime you use them a smile just appears on your face, the JMI has that effect on me.

Ii would, however, try the relube before dropping $250+ on a new focuser...

I agree with Anthony, the Moonlite is really a nice piece for a reasonable price and it’s basically plug-and-play for your model.
