I'm new to Astromart, & am concerned when I PM to an ad, the poster has access to my e-mail address. I have worked hard to keep this private, what gives?

Well, turn it around and put yourself in the seller's shoes. I'd like to be able to contact the party with whom I am dealing directly without having to rely on them checking their message mailbox on Astromart.

I believe you can preserve the privacy of your e-mail address by Private Messaging the other party (someone please correct me if I am wrong). However, I am always a little leary of transactions that happen that way because they occur outside the rating system. It makes me wonder if the responder sent a PM to avoid being rated.

There's no way around that... this system is based on email contact. (You could always use a VALID secondary email address for these things though...)
I have been involved in several transactions through the years that I've been in Astromart and I've never had ANY issues...

This place is one of the safest ones... 8)
