I am thinking of purchasing a new Celestron F10 C11 or a Meade LX90 12inch ACF F10 sometime in late this year or early next year. Please weigh in on the positives and negatives of each scope. I am planing to buy a OTA only as I own a Mach1. I have owned a C11 since 1984. The OTA needs cleaning. I talked with Company Seven and they informed me that the cost of cleaning collimating same will cost moer than the scope is worth. I plan to do visual observing only. That is why I plan to purchase a F10. Finally my budget limits me to one or the other OTA. Thanks in advance for any and all replies.
C11 F10 or Meade LX 90 ACf F10.

I would say the Meade is the better option. Even though your plan is only visual observing, the coma correcting ability of the LX90 will making viewing more pleasant. I used to have a C9.25 and the aberrations at the edge of the FOV was apparent to me.
I also feel that overall, the construction of the Meade SCTs is better and sturdier that the C-series scopes.
Need to keep in mind that scopes are hard to find right now and with Orion having bought out Meade, its hard to tell when they'll start production up again. So regardless of the brand you decide on, looking for used may well be the only way to get one.
