I am making a light baffle to place across from the focuser on the secondary ring (it's not a cage, just a single ring). Kriege and Berry suggest using Kydex. Does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative material that will work as well and maybe be easier to find? Thanks.

Stuart,
I made a baffle using black ripstop nylon. It is very lightweight. For support I sewed in some 1/8" bamboo-like reeds. The whole thing weighs almost nothing and when I'm done for the night it rolls up into a very thin tube that fits into my eyepiece case.

Stuart,
Your local auto upholstery supply store (there is one in the nearest big town) will have waterproof pasteboard, and various plastic materials that will do the job. There is a vinyl/foam combination material that holds its shape, but can be form fitted. Sorry, I do not know what it is called, but you will find it if you spend a few minutes wandering through the store.
