I am thinking of this as my next mount purchase, How do these perform at higher powers? they dont have slow motion controls so has anyone who used it find this to be a problem or is it so smooth that hand tracking say on planets is easy?

Excellent! I use it with my C8 and a 2kg counterweight at mostly 200-300x on Jupiter and up to 400x on double stars with no problem. No slow motion controls and none needed. Note that I have a different tripod.
